The Madison Region is facing demographic and economic shifts that will affect local communities and businesses. A rising share of residents approaching retirement age, disparate rates of growth, and an increasingly diverse population will impact labor availability, economic growth, housing and transportation demand, school enrollment and health care needs throughout the region. Despite these oncoming changes, there are opportunities for the Madison Region to use its assets and comparative advantages to address these issues. This session will explore these changes in greater detail and explore options for community responses in the coming decade.
